In addition to its spectacular natural setting between the sea and the mountains, the city of Terracina presents a common dichotomy amongst Mediterranean towns: a picturesque but underutilized historical center and an unpleasant but functional modern expansion. Students will work in teams to investigate and analyze the town, considering aspects such as climate,
archaeology, tourism, transportation, hydrological resources, agriculture, etc. Then proposals will be elaborated to address the perceived problems. These will be formatted as slide presentations and projected first to city officials and residents and later, after completion, back in the classroom.
